How gutter guard installation works
Seattle gutters fight a losing battle against Douglas-fir needles, maple seeds and shingle grit. A well-fitted gutter guard helps reduce clogs and overflow, though guards still need occasional checking and cleaning.
We offer two options: stainless steel mesh guards, and reverse-curve (gutter hood) guards that roll rainwater over a curved lip into the gutter while leaves slide off. Which suits your home depends on the trees nearby and your gutters. We check and clean the gutters before guards go on.

Are gutter guards worth it in Seattle?+
If you have conifers (fir, cedar, pine) anywhere near your roof — absolutely. Guards can cut down on how often gutters need cleaning and help prevent the overflow that damages fascia and soaks foundations. Guards still need occasional checks.
How much do gutter guards cost?+
Cost depends on the length of your gutters, the number of stories and corners, the guard type and the condition of the existing gutters. We'll give you a free written estimate after we look at your gutters.
Will gutter guards void my roof warranty?+
Not the way we install them. Our mesh guards fit under the first course of shingles without lifting, nailing through or disturbing the roofing, so your shingle warranty stays intact.
Do I ever have to clean gutters again?+
With mesh guards, interior cleaning is rarely needed. We recommend a quick visual check once a year — heavy tree cover can leave a fine layer of dust on the mesh that a hose or soft brush removes in minutes.
Can you add guards to my existing gutters?+
Yes — guards retrofit onto most existing 5" and 6" K-style gutters. We'll inspect the gutters first and let you know honestly if repair or replacement makes more sense before adding guards.
